A New Approach to Fire and Life Safety
Safety Studies have shown that most fire safety education is geared towards children in preschool and grades K—3. The approach most often uses “fun” activities like visiting firehouses and giving out coloring books and stickers. After third grade, most children don’t receive any further fire safety education, so they do not know the reality of fire. The “Fire Is…” series has been developed to provide older children (grades 5—7) additional fire safety education, presented in a realistic manner that is informative, but not scary.
