At their monthly general membership meeting, which was held in Bloomfield on September 29th, the Jersey Access Group announced that they will help support Fire Prevention week (October 3-9) by distributing the Fire Is video series to its member stations. Several other stations, including Montclair and Bloomfield have already shot and will air short video openings with their Fire Chief explaining the importance of fire safety, their department’s role to train and teach, and to promote the first video Fire Is Black.
JAG member stations will air the first video during Fire Prevention Week and continue to air the show throughout the month. During the course of the next several months they will continue their commitment to fire safety as the air the rest of the Fire Is Series. Jersey Access Group ( www.jagonline.org ) President, Bob Duthaler went on to say ” part of JAG’s Mission Station states ‘for the purpose of educating and informing the public about their communities’, and we feel that Fire Prevention is part of that.” He went on to say, “that’s why were glad to be part of this program that can be found on www.njfiresafety.com and getting the word out to our community”.
“We are thrilled to be part of this exciting new outreach program.” Notes Sharon Colucci, Station Manager of Montclair TV34 and Vice Chairperson of the Jersey Access Group. “Dr. Field is fervent about his mission to get Fire Safety programs into as many homes as possible.” Colucci adds; “Combining local PEG (Public, Educational, Government) programming with an interactive web-site will launch safety education onto a new direction.”
